Solar Protect is a trading style of Solar Insurance Services (Medway) Limited (registered in England No. 05439438), which is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority under firm reference number 459582.
This policy explains what cookies we use on solarinsurance.co.uk, what they do, and how you control them.
What cookies are
Cookies are small files a website stores on your device. They let a site remember things between pages and visits, and they let us measure how the site is used. Some are set by us, some by the services we use to run the site.
How we ask for your permission
When you first visit, a banner appears. Nothing except strictly necessary cookies is set until you choose.
You can Accept all, Reject all, or use Customise to allow some categories and not others. Rejecting is as easy as accepting, and the site works either way, though some features described below will be unavailable.
You can change your mind at any time using the consent link on the site, or by clearing cookies in your browser. We keep a record of the choice you made so we can show that consent was given and so we do not keep asking you.
The categories we use
Strictly necessary
Always on, no consent required. These make the site function. They include the cookie that records your cookie choices, cookies that keep you signed in if you have an account with us, and cookies needed to carry a quote or payment through from one page to the next. Without these the site cannot do what you have asked it to do.
Functional
Only with your permission. These enable features that are helpful but not essential:
- Crisp, the live chat window. If you do not allow functional cookies the chat window will not appear. You can still contact us by phone or email.
- Trustpilot, the review widget.
Analytics
Only with your permission. These help us understand how the site is used so we can improve it:
- Google Analytics 4, which counts visits, pages viewed and how people move through the site.
- Hotjar, aggregated measurement of how pages are used.
If you reject analytics, neither of these loads at all and no analytics cookies are set. We do not use any of the services above for advertising, and we do not set advertising cookies.
Forms on our scheme pages
Quote and enquiry forms on our accountant scheme pages are provided by Typeform. These load so that the form works when you come to a page to request a quote, and they are not switched off by the banner. Typeform sets its own cookies when the form loads. If you would rather not use it, contact us directly by phone or email instead. Typeform publishes its own cookie information on typeform.com.
Controlling cookies in your browser
Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies through its settings. Blocking all cookies will stop parts of this site working, and parts of most other sites too. Your browser help pages explain how.

We update this page when what we use changes. The date at the top tells you when it was last revised.
